GLK and Blossoming Noise are proud to present two performances from renowned Spanish artist Francisco Lopez. Over 25 years of exploration in sound design have led to a performance of remarkable complexity, ranging from near-silence to a deafening roar at the threshold of pain. Since the late 1960’s, Z’EV has been at the forefront of experimental percussion. Beginning with his days at the California Institute of the Arts, Z’EV has studied techniques such as Balinese Gamelan, Ewe (Ghana), Tala (South India), and Vou Dun (Haiti). Incorporating these traditional methods into his distinctly personal musical vision of sound, Z’EV has consistently produced performances of exquisite power and beauty.

“In being so exemplary modern, Z’EV is as primitive a performer as possible. His instrument literally is his body, and the percussion instruments he plays with all parts of it. Z’EV is a dancer, always in perfect control of his muscular body’s movements.”

Also appearing will be Sikhara, an international percussion trio known for their high energy peformances. Nashville’s own Logickal and Mr. Natural will perform a duet exploring the combination of handmade instruments with pure electronics.

The long awaited return of Jean Louis Costes to the US, with his new performance “Les petits oiseaux chient”. Costes will be appearing throughout the country with support from Mr. Natural and other special guests. Beginning in February.

April kicks off with the US tour of the legendary drummer Z’EV. His decades of exploration in percussion have resulted in a live performance of exquisite power and rare beauty. Sikhara and will also appear.

GLK22: Masayuki Imanishi/Mr. Natural- Heavy Motion/Tokyo Out split LP : Now available for $8 postpaid in the US. Imanishi’s side is an excellent blend of acoustics and electronics, and Mr. Natural presents a live recording from last year’s Japan tour with Jazkamer.

GLK23 Ovo/Mr. Natural split 7″ a special release for their upcoming US tour. Ovo’s experimental doom is a contrast to the soothing sounds of Mr. Natural’s plant and instrument recordings.

GLK24 Bastard Noise with Sikhara tukano khalkha CD The caveman electronics of Bastard Noise are combined with Sikhara’s explorations into the extinct languages of Mongolia and the Amazon basin. Now Available for $8 postpaid in the US.
